Empowering Agricultural Experts: Training Sessions Elevate Winter Pest Management Skills
In a recent advancement, a series of Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions were effectively conducted for the Facilitators of Farmer Field Schools (FFS) under the CBARD-ALL Project of ActionAid in Nangarhar province supported by UNDP_Afg. These sessions primarily focused on winter pest management techniques, providing participants with vital knowledge on various methods such as the application of winter oil, Bordeaux paste, Bordeaux paint, Bordeaux mixture, urea spray, and liming.
The comprehensive training program also covered greenhouse management, pruning techniques, and other essential subjects including Complain and Feedback Mechanism (CFM), visibility strategies, mobilization efforts, project updates, successes, challenges, and lessons learned over the past three and a half months. Additionally, the training stressed the significance of effective, result-driven implementation, along with the collection of sales data in terms of both volume and value.
Moreover, to boost visibility and assist in the identification of crop pests and diseases, a range of tools including waistcoats, mugs, stationery, and magnifying equipment were distributed to the relevant staff. This holistic training approach not only equips facilitators with the necessary skills for winter pest management but also ensures they are well-equipped to effectively address various agricultural challenges.
