Emergency response and resilience
Amidst insecurity and conflict, Afghanistan continues to be highly prone to natural disasters such as flooding, extreme cold in winter, avalanches, landslide, earthquakes and drought.
We will continue to invest in building the capacity of communities particularly women in remote areas on resources and resilience building planning. In our initiatives we will continue to work in collaboration with local government (Community Development Councils - CDCs) and with Authorities in Afghanistan.
Some of our key focus would be on equipping vulnerable communities with knowledge and skill on women and youth led community or school based disaster preparedness, support excluded vulnerable groups viz. IDPs, returnees, people with disability, women and girls to participate in recovery and resilience building initiatives and to capacitate Community Development Councils to develop women and youth led inclusive resilience building initiatives.
