Agriculture is the mainstay of national economy of Afghanistan and the main source of livelihood of the people, yet agriculture continues to remain rudimentary and subsistence. The state has made a lot of efforts in reforming agriculture sector to ensure that it meets the needs of the community.
ActionAid Afghanistan prioritizes enhancing the knowledge and skills of farmers on climate resilient sustainable agriculture including diversification, promotion of alternative livelihoods and micro enterprise initiatives. ActionAid would also strengthen small holder farmers and women collectives to engage in selected value chains to enhance the food and income security.
