Winter Cash Assistance Program Supports Vulnerable Households in Farza District of Kabul Province
ActionAid- Afghanistan distributed cash assistance to 617 families in Farza district of Kabul province, as part of the Winterisation Assistance Program. This initiative, funded by the AHF aims to meet basic winter needs and reduce health risks associated with cold temperatures.
Three packages were tailored to each household's specific requirements. 451 families received the full package, including $200 for heating assistance, $74 for clothing, and $57 for blankets, totalling $331 per household (AFN 24,900).
67 households received $274 (AFN 20,600) for heating assistance and clothing, while 99 households received $200 (AFN 15,050) for heating assistance only. These packages ensure families have access to essential items, promoting warmth and wellbeing while reducing health risks during winter.
The program specifically targets at-risk groups, such as women-headed households, the elderly, returnees, and families who face limited income sources during winter. By providing support, the program aims to lower the risks of illness and mortality associated with extreme temperatures.
The AAA's cash assistance distribution is a significant step towards protecting vulnerable households during winter in Farza district. This initiative contributes to the overall welfare of the community, creating a safer and more resilient environment for all residents.
