  UN-FAO Audit Team visits ActionAid. Afghanistan’s Project Progress in Balkh Province

The UN-FAO senior audit panel visited ActionAid, Afghanistan’s project progress in Balkh province. The audit team headed by Mr. Ramirez Leon Daniel - senior auditor, focused on the Cash for Work (CFW) infrastructures developed as part of the OSRO/AFG/213/WBK project in the Gore Mar area, located in Balkh province's Nahrishahi district.

The project included 16,755 trenches, three check dams, a water collection station, a pathway, and a culvert. The project aimed to benefit the local community, engaging 688 individuals, consisting of 654 men and 34 women, who worked diligently for 20 days and received a fair compensation of $100 each.

After a thorough review and on-site observations, the audit team was impressed with the project's progress. They praised the excellent teamwork and coordination between the FAO and ActionAid-Balkh teams, which played a vital role in the project's success.
