Turning Ideas into Opportunity: AAA Empowers Afghanistan’s Youth Through Entrepreneurship

When young people turn their ideas into action, they can create jobs, strengthen communities and inspire hope. In Afghanistan, where employment opportunities are limited and returning from migration brings additional challenges, access to skills and mentorship can open pathways to economic independence.
ActionAid, Afghanistan (AAA) is supporting the Amal Launch Cohort to help young entrepreneurs develop solutions to local challenges. On 30 October in Kabul, 20 youth-led startup teams presented their ventures at the program’s first Pitch Day.
Amal is a free, 12-week program run by FoundrOS in partnership with TEDxShar e Naw and Zdakra. With at least half its places reserved for women, it combines practical skills, mentorship and professional networks to help founders turn promising ideas into working ventures.
Each team will now work with a dedicated mentor to develop and test its venture ahead of Launch Day on 31 December.
Through this investment, AAA is helping young people build livelihoods, lead change and create opportunities that contribute to Afghanistan’s recovery and developmen
