Strengthening Community Preparedness to Prevent and Respond to Cholera
.ActionAid, Afghanistan trained 90 WASH committee members in Nurgal District, Kunar Province, and Dara-i Noor District, Nangarhar Province, to strengthen cholera prevention and response through the WASH and Hygiene Empowerment project funded with the support of the Otto per Mille of the Waldensian Church of Italy.
Using the Case Area Targeted Intervention (CATI) approach, the training helped participants strengthen their knowledge of cholera risks, preventive measures, community awareness and coordinated responses to potential outbreaks.
Bringing together 30 members from each of three committees, the activity supports communities in taking an active role in public-health preparedness and sharing knowledge that can help protect families.
