Our Country Director Mr. Srikanta Misra Visits PREVALE and WERP Project Sites, Reinforcing Commitment to Community Development

On February 2026, our Country Director, Mr. Srikanta Misra, visited the PREVALE and WERP project sites in Faryab and Jawizjan Provinces, reaffirming our commitment to community-driven development and sustainable natural resource management. During the visit to three project sites, Mr. Misra observed ongoing activities and engaged with community members and field staff.

The focus of the visit included key interventions aimed at strengthening local watersheds and water systems. These included the construction of check dams, monitoring wells, and improvements to irrigation systems implemented by the PREVALE Project, all designed to enhance water availability and agricultural productivity. At the WERP site, Mr. Misra visited the Haji Baba Qarashikhi water supply network, which provides safe drinking water to 320 families and a school, aiming to reduce water collection time and improve hygiene. He also assessed infrastructure such as water sources, reservoirs, and distribution pipelines.

Throughout the visit, the Country Director engaged with community leaders and members from both provinces, who expressed gratitude for ActionAid’s efforts. They underscored the project's expected benefits, especially for women and children who currently spend significant time gathering water and confirmed their commitment to supporting the sustainability of the system.

The visit concluded with an all-staff meeting, where Mr. Misra praised the team's dedication and offered strategic guidance for project implementation.
