ActionAid, Afghanistan at the AVPN Global Conference 2026

Mr. Srikanta Misra, our Country Director, recently attended the AVPN Global Conference 2026, held from 25 to 27 August in New Delhi. He was a port of the six-member ActionAid delegation at the event.

This year’s theme was “A Blueprint for Action in Asia.” A blueprint is more than a vision statement or a list of aspirations, it is a practical plan that provides direction, coordination, and accountability.

The conference featured inspiring sessions and created meaningful opportunities for connection and collaboration. During the event, Srikanta met a range of professionals and discussed the development and humanitarian challenges facing the world, with a particular focus on Afghanistan. These included climate-induced humanitarian crises, cuts in development funding, and growing threats to peace and security worldwide.

For ActionAid, the 2026 Global Conference provided an important platform for building partnerships and exploring collective solutions to these challenges. Srikanta agreed on several next steps with other delegates, including opportunities for joint programming, advocacy, and research. He also attended sessions showcasing effective practices from across Asia.

Reflecting on the conference, Srikanta said:
