Update on Asia Directors’ Forum (ADF) from Hanoi

Srikanta Misra, Country Director of ActionAid Afghanistan, participated in the ADF 2025 held in Hanoi, Vietnam from 19–24 September. The event brought together 15 Country and Executive Directors from across Asia, along with ActionAid International Secretary General Arthur Larok and Asia Regional Head Jagat Patnaik.

Key discussions focused on current global shifts, including youth-led change, evolving new world orders and the role of misinformation in setting global agenda. The need for feminist and collective approaches to communication and fundraising in ActionAid were also discussed. Climate Justice was identified as

a unifying theme for ActionAid’s global work, while the potential of artificial intelligence in our work and leadership in conflict contexts was also explored.

The event featured side sessions on climate, fiscal justice, and Palestine, a visit to an ActionAid-supported ecotourism project, and an exhibition showcasing community products under the ActionAid Village .
