Ghor, Afghanistan –,A newly completed 44-square-meter bridge is transforming daily life for the residents of Asferman village in Murghab District of Ghor province . reconnecting a community long isolated by seasonal floods. The bridge restores safe, reliable access across the Murghab River for more than 500 families, enabling year-round travel to schools, markets, and health services.

Funded by UNDP and implemented by ActionAid under the Cash-for-Work initiative, the $20,000 project is part of broader flood recovery efforts in Ghor Province. In addition to improving infrastructure, the project provided immediate economic relief by creating 45 short-term jobs for residents over its 1.5-month construction period.
