ActionAid Distributes First Batch of Emergency Food Packages to Earthquake survivors in Kunar’s Nurgal District

Each emergency food package included essential items to help families cope with the immediate aftermath of the disaster including dry essential ration and ready to eat food that will help the family for 15 days . 

 

Ahmad Zaman, a resident of Nurgal district, expressed his gratitude:

“The earthquake struck around 12 at night. We lost everything, especially our loved ones. In such moments, everyone needs help. I thank ActionAid for their quick support with food items. We are kindly requesting more aid.”

Shair Baz Safi, from Shamriz village, shared his painful story:

“I lost three family members, and five others are injured. Our house, food, and belongings are all under the rubble. We have nothing. I thank ActionAid for these food packages; they will help us survive for the next 15 days."

The swift delivery of food packages by ActionAid Afghanistan has provided immediate relief to hundreds of families struggling in the wake of the earthquake. These efforts not only address urgent food insecurity but also offer a sense of hope and solidarity to communities in distress. ActionAid remains committed to continuing its support, ensuring that survivors receive the assistance they need during this critical time, and in the longer-term recovery process.
