ActionAid, Afghanistan Distributes Cash to Assist 1,000 Vulnerable Families in Kabul Districts

ActionAid Afghanistan has achieved a noteworthy milestone by successfully completing the first round of cash distribution for 1,000 families in Kabul's Deh Sabz and Bagrami districts under the AHF-MPCA project. This strategic initiative aims to provide financial support to vulnerable families over a three-month period, with the recent distribution amounting to 11,550,000 AFN.

Among the beneficiaries were 773 male individuals, including disabled persons and the elderly, as well as 227 female recipients carefully chosen based on criteria such as extreme poverty, conflict-affected status, disability within the family, and women-led households (widows).

Each family received 11,550 AFN (equivalent to $156), with plans in place for two additional rounds to maintain ongoing assistance. The distribution process included the use of token cards for secure cash retrieval, organized queues to ensure efficiency, and a strong emphasis on transparency and accountability to uphold fairness throughout.

The successful implementation of the initial cash distribution round in the Deh Sabz and Bagrami Districts has had a significant positive impact on 1,000 families. With future rounds planned, this initiative continues to demonstrate ActionAid Afghanistan's commitment to providing essential financial relief, promoting stability, and offering crucial support to those in need
