In a significant stride towards recovery, the CBARD-ALL project's emergency flood response program has successfully completed land rehabilitation works for households affected by recent floods in Nangarhar and Laghman provinces.

Under the compassionate initiative, 352 carefully selected households across multiple districts of Nangarhar and Laghman provinces, including Khogiani, Shirzad, Achin, Chaparhar, Rodata, Mohmandara, Dara-e-Noor, Lal Pora, Jalalabad-Behsood, Surkhrod, Kot, Mehtarllam and Qarghahee have received the support they desperately needed. The implementation of a cash-for-works program enabled the completion of land rehabilitation activities, fostering immediate assistance and hope for the flood-affected households.

A remarkable team of 1,760 dedicated laborers poured their efforts into the project, with each laborer actively contributing for 8 days. Their commitment and hard work proved instrumental in restoring the productivity of the affected lands and offering a glimmer of light in the face of adversity.

The project's primary focus was to restore the flood-affected lands, fostering an environment where households could flourish once again through agricultural activities.

Importantly, the comprehensive land rehabilitation initiative created employment opportunities for the laborers involved, simultaneously supporting the affected communities and bolstering the local economy. The successful completion of these rehabilitation works serves as a testament to the unwavering resilience and dedication of the communities in Nangarhar and Laghman provinces.

With restored lands and renewed hope, the flood-affected households now stand on a path towards long-term recovery and resilience.
